66 foot Rabone Chesterman Ltd 1958 leather, brass and linen tape measure: mid to closing areas of tape in fine as new condition

Leather is well worn, showing age. Small amount of what may be white paint residue on rear as shown.
Tape is in very good condition, particularly the lengthier sections which are as new.
Winder works well.

John Rabone & Sons was founded in 1784 and became the foremost manufacturers of boxwood, ivory, brass, and steel measuring tools. Their headquarters, the Hockley Abbey Works, became a beacon of ingenuity, influencing not only the local economy but also the global perception of British craftsmanship.

Reiver Vintage is raising awareness of the work of Journey Enterprises, a small north east charity supporting adults with complex learning disability to lead active, inclusive and fulfilling lives. The Charity has four day centres which help people with learning disability learn life and work skills. These are in Blyth and Hexham (Northumberland), Bishop Auckland (County Durham) and Newcastle upon Tyne. The Day Centres host 160 adults weekly who are aged between 18 and 80 years.

This year the Charity is one of 15 organisations chosen nationally by the House of Lords as examples of 'best practice' (see https://www.theparliamentaryreview.co.uk/organisations/journey-enterprises)
